Objectives

The phion academy provides end-users and partners with a thorough and comprehensive understanding of the netfence product family . phion academy also educates participants about the latest threads and methods of protection by implementing modern security architectures.

The courses address network administrators, security officers, system integrators and consultants and focus on real-world and hands-on training methods.



Programme

The phion academy programme consists of 3 levels:

General
The general training is provided by training partners and participation may not be necessary for experienced network administrators.

Basic
At the end of each course, participants can take an exam to certify as phion Security Engineer (PHSE).

Expert
At the end of each course, participants can take an exam to certify as phion Security Expert (PHSX).

Certificates (PHSE and PHSX) are valid for 3 years. To ensure that certified professionals stay-up-to-date with the latest netfence technologies, phion may schedule additional training.

All courses are held at the phion headquarters in Innsbruck and are conducted by phion consultants.

Terms and Conditions

Registration
Registrations must be made in writing (post, fax, e-mail) to phion AG. As the number of participants for our seminars is restricted, registrations will be dealt with in the order that they arrive. The invoice is sent with the confirmation of registration and is payable immediately without any deductions. Only payments arriving before the beginning of the seminar give the right to participate. phion AG reserves the right to adapt conditions, prices, the location and time of events, dates, course content and the availability of products to changing requirements.

Confirmation of participation
Each seminar participant receives a personal certificate after successful participation in the course that can be presented to the employer.

Cancellation
Cancellations must be made in writing to phion AG. Cancellations arriving up to 10 working days before the seminar will be given a full refund. After this time, all cancellations within 10 working days of the start of the seminar are subject to a cancellation fee of 50% of the cost of the seminar. For cancellation less than 3 working days before the start of the seminar, or for non-appearance of the participant, the whole cost of the seminar is charged. The above is not applicable if the cancelling participant provides a paying replacement.

Responsibility
The selection of the seminar is the responsibility of the participant. Each seminar is carried out according to the current state of technology. The participant may not raise liability claims arising from the application of the knowledge acquired. Seminar documents or software distributed may not be copied under any circumstances before, during or after the seminar. In the case of non-compliance, phion AG reserves the right to claim damages.

Course Fees and Invoicing
You will find the valid seminar fees at "Prices". phion AG reserves the right to exclude participants from the seminar and to demand compensation of the amount of the seminar fee for those whose seminar fee is not paid before the beginning of the seminar. Travel costs and expenses for the course instructor at the customer location are not included in the seminar fees and will be specifically agreed in the form of costs for the distance travelled and daily allowance for each order. Accommodation costs are charged at the amount actually incurred.

Liability
If a seminar is cancelled due to illness of the trainer, acts of God or other unforeseeable circumstances, there is no right to have the event carried out. phion AG cannot be made liable in such cases to refund travel and accommodation costs or the costs of unavailability for work. There is no liability for direct damages, in particular no liability arises for lost profits or the claims of third parties. For personal damage, our liability is limited to that required by law. phion AG accepts no liability for articles brought to the phion Academy event or for other damage and costs including loss of earnings or profits, loss of data, travelling costs, consequent damage and damage to property of any kind.

Supplied
The following are included in the seminar fees: The provision of hardware and software specially configured for the seminar for the duration of the seminar, teaching of the publicised content, accompanying documentation and drinks in the breaks as well as lunch on seminar days. phion AG reserves the right to cancel training dates with less than 3 participants. If the cancellation is made 5 days before the beginning of training "Liability" applies.

General
These general conditions of business retain their validity for the remaining parts even if individual conditions are legally invalid. Amendments and extensions of these conditions must be made in writing. Errors and omissions excepted. Court of jurisdiction is Innsbruck.

The Security Engineer and Security Expert courses include 1 certification each.

Certification, length of validity and fees
The certification is carried out in writing in each case at the end of the training week.
phion Information Technologies GmbH reserves the right to arrange Refresher days.
The following certificates can be obtained:
- PHSE - PHion Security Engineer
- PHSX - PHion Security EXpert
For course participants, the 1st certification is free. If the certification is not passed, further
attempts are possible (see "Prices").
In addition, it is possible to do the PHSE certification after self-study of the course documentation. The cost for this version is 300€ and includes the training documents on CD-ROM.
