phion Live Assist: Remote support on board the netfence solutions
Innsbruck, 24th November 2009. phion makes further management capability improvements to its netfence appliances for network security: Users of phion.a, the netfence solution’s administrations interface, now have access to a safe and simple remote support tool with Live Assist. This enables customers, IT service providers and the phion Support Center to access netfence appliances collectively.
Live Assist is based on a secured VNC-connection for phion customers’ support incidents. As such, they no longer need to recourse to an external remote support solution. Unlike the direct access to phion.a, the advantage of Live Assist is that the customer can trace the changes made by the Support Center live and in real-time. Live Assist also allows users to transfer data such as patches or hotfixes directly via the file transfer function.
The VNC connection is secured with RSA encryption, X.509 certification and organizational steps. As such, phion customers can decide whether to allow configurative access by phion support staff or just to share the interface in “view only” mode.
The solution is part of the feature patch 4.2.7 and was made available to customers this month.
